It’s early March and although spring hasn’t fully bloomed, one can imagine the awakening of nature in the coming weeks – a sight not to be missed.

“Our farmhouse is situated in the municipality of Piombino, just a few kilometres from the renownedGulf of Baratti. We offer glamping tents with a private outdoor hot tub, along with studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.”
“The studios have a surface area of 25 square meters come equipped with a kitchen, private garden, and bathroom. The one-bedroom apartments are more spacious at 45 square meters, featuring a kitchen, a bathroom, and an outdoor veranda. Our two-bedroom apartments vary in type but are all equipped with a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a generous living room.”
“In terms of glamping tents, we offer three variations: Large, suitable for two adults and three children, featuring a loft area with a bedroom, kitchen, and private bathroom; Medium, designed for two adults and two children, with a loft area containing a bedroom, kitchen, and private bathroom; and finally,the Small, perfect for two adults, comes equipped with a private bathroom, a kitchen, and hot tub.”

Can you tell us more about your locally sourced breakfasts and themed dinners?
“The Gli Etruschi farmhouse proudly holds organic certification, signifying our unwavering dedication to cultivating crops like forage, wheat, sunflowers, olives, grapes, and vegetables without resorting to chemicals harmful to human health and the environment.
Our buffet breakfast offers a feast of organic jams, freshly baked cakes made with our flour, freshly sliced meats and cheeses, seasonal fruit, and much more. We’ve curated our breakfast to provide our adventurous guests with the necessary energy for exploring the Val di Cornia through activities such as trekking, mountain biking, e-biking, and water sports in the beautiful waters of Baratti and nearby beaches.”
The shared dinners are truly memorable. Three times a week, We organise social and convivial evenings, focused on togetherness and building connections: there’s the day dedicated to wood-fired pizza, freshly baked on-site, the meat grill evening supplemented by appetizers, mains, and vegetables, and the evening of grilled fish and cacciucco,again accompanied by appetizers, main courses, and side dishes. We directly source the majority of our food from our land, carefully choosing the rest based on its provenance.“

We have a lot in store for families choosing to book a holiday at the Agriturismo Gli Etruschi. We offer their children access to our educational farm, where they can interact with our goats, cows, horses, peacocks, geese, chickens, rabbits, and donkeys, while experiencing the beauty of nature and country life. With a bit of luck, they might even witness the birth of a little calf or a puppy from one of the other animals. Additionally, children can have fun in our green spaces, in the swimming pool, and with the games available to them.
We’ve got some great workshops and educational activities for the whole family. We’ve always upheld the beauty of nature and animals, which is why we’ve introduced beehives into our facility, allowing children to participate in our educational workshops. These workshops are specifically designed to educate children about the care, observation, and history of bees, with the invaluable collaboration of our expert beekeeper. Afterwards, we offer a tasty snack and a guided visit with direct contact with all the animals present on the farm.

The Gulf of Baratti, Populonia, and the parks of Val di Cornia surrounding us make our farm stay perfect at any time of the year, but if I have to choose the best season, I would undoubtedly say spring and summer. During this period, the countryside awakens and becomes a riot of colours, with fields turning green. Surrounded by the singing of birds, we experience a special moment as we witness the blooming of plants and the harvest of our land’s products.
In any case, the weather in this area of Tuscany is mild for most of the year, and the beauty of the countryside is always there in any season. So, for those seeking well-being, sports, and enjoying the beauty of nature, it can be done 365 days a year.

Can you tell us about the sports services offered at your farm and the activities available in the surrounding area, Luisella?
Gli Etruschi Farmhouse offers various activities and services focused on sports. We have an in-house riding stables where our guests can find horses and ponies for the children. We organise horse riding excursions and trips for all guests, a maximum of two at a time, perfect for a couple eager to explore new routes and trails. Private lessons can be booked, and once a week, children will have the opportunity to ride our four-legged friends. All the walks are conducted by us and our collaborators, guiding you to discover the scents and panoramas that make the area where the farm is located unique, unveiling the Etruscan Coast from vantage points where only a few people have had the fortune to enjoy.”
Within the farmhouse structure, guests have access to an adult swimming pool and a children’s pool, ping pong tables, a mini football field, and a boules court.We are the perfect starting point for trekking enthusiasts with the best routes to explore on foot, depending on the opening of the parks and the time you have available.
We like to pamper all our guests, which is why we’ve decided to provide our bicycles free of chargeallowing you to move around in just a few minutes between enchanting beaches and trails to explore. Doing all this by bike is a unique experience! In addition, we offer, through an external service, mountain bike and e-bike rental, ideal for those who want to spend a green holiday with a low environmental impact,leaving the car in the parking lot and only using it to return home, avoiding queues and parking problems. For those who arrive with their own bike, we also offer a shelter and a workshop for repairs and maintenance.Although we’re not the perfect bike hotel, we do our best to assist those who practice cycle tourism in Tuscany.“
