Upon arrival at Il Giardino Apartments in Riparbella (PI), you find yourself surrounded by the beauty of the Tuscan landscape, with hills, forests, and pristine nature. This property is perfect for those looking for a holiday that combines sports, outdoor activities, and tranquillity, while being conveniently located near the major attractions of the Val di Cecina and the Etruscan Coast.
We meet Katia, who welcomes us with a warm smile and invites us to sit at one of the outdoor tables under a huge and beautiful fig tree, just sprouting its first buds.
Can you describe your property? How many apartments do you manage?
“Il Giardino Apartments are located within the Regional Agricultural and Forestry Estate ‘Giardino Scornabecchi’. We offer four apartments that can accommodate up to 14 guests in total:
- he most spacious apartment, on the first floor, covers approximately 65 sqm and features two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a combined kitchen/living room with 4 additional beds.
- Still, on the first floor, there is a second apartment with 6 beds, measuring about 50 sqm. This apartment features two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a combined kitchen and living room.
- On the ground floor, there are two smaller flats, each with two beds: The first measures 37 sqm and includes a bedroom, bathroom, and a combined kitchen/living room.
- The second is a studio flat with a kitchenette, sleeping area, and bathroom.
All apartments are equipped with bed linen, crockery, pots, and heating for the colder months. Although there is currently no Wi-Fi, guests can find a connection with the surrounding nature by immersing themselves in the forest right in front of the property.”

First of all, a few dozen meters from the apartments, there is a beautiful and adventurous Adventure Park “Il Giardino Sospeso”, perfect for children and adults, with various difficulty courses to entertain the whole family on holiday in Tuscany. Moreover, this is the starting point for bike rides and trekking, independently or organised and in groups, thanks to a sports association that helps tourists and locals discover the wonders of the Forest Park. It is also possible to rent mountain bikes and e-bikes, with which you can reach Riparbella, Castellina M.ma, Santa Luce, Volterra, the seaside resorts of Cecina and Vada, and the whole area of Val di Cecina and the Etruscan Coast. Nearby, a few steps away, you can find a fitness area and a separate warm-up space to prepare for excursions. “

A riding school for horse riding is just a few minutes away. The nearby Village “Borgo San Pecoraio” offers both a swimming pool and tennis courts, open to external guests for a fee. Tennis and Padel clubs are available in the municipality of Cecina, reachable in less than 20 minutes. Additionally, the sea offers many water sports such as SUP, Wing-foil, Windsurfing, and Kite-Surfing.

“Of course, our holiday home is perfect for those who care about environmental issues and want a low-impact green holiday:
- For those who come for sea sports or want to take a dip between a trekking or e-bike excursion, the towns of Cecina Mare, Le Gorette, Vada, and the White Beaches are less than 10 km away
- The villages of Montescudaio, Guardistallo, Riparbella, Castellina M.ma, and Casale M.mo are between 10 and 15 km away, easily reachable for walkers and cyclists. Santa Luce, where you can witness the incredible flowering of lavender fields between June and July, is 25 km away.
- For the more adventurous or well-trained, the Etruscan city of Volterra (38 km) and Sassetta (34 km), with its famous thermal baths, are relatively close and can be visited in less than 2 hours.
- By renting an e-bike, you can consider covering the 44 km that separate us from the Gulf of Baratti and Populonia, the 48 km to Suvereto, and the 52 km to Piombino. In addition to a wonderful historic centre and a unique view of Elba Island from a one-of-a-kind seaside square in Italy, you can take your bike on a ferry to visit the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.”

“Within the Parco Forestale Giardino Scornabecchi is the restaurant “L’Osteria del Cinghiale,” open daily from mid-June and throughout the summer and on weekends for the rest of the year, offering typical Tuscan cuisine from land and sea, as well as bar service starting at 10 a.m. Freshly milked milk and the freshest cheese can be purchased 200 meters away from us at La Cecilia’s Farm, an authentic and delicious experience for the whole family. In addition, the municipality of Riparbella is renowned for its wine cellars (La Regola, Caia Rossa, Prima Pietra, Due Man,i QuerciaLuc, PaKravan Papi, just to name a few) where you can taste delicious wines and typical Tuscan products. Every year, in this regard, the RipaWine event is held in the town center, during which music, wine and good food take center stage. It is an unmissable opportunity to discover and enjoy local products and experience an evening of cheerfulness and conviviality.”What about children? Is there something special dedicated to them?
At 50 metres from the flats there is the Il Giardino Sospeso Adventure Park. Suspended bridges, Tibetan and Nepalese bridges, stepped ladders, walkways on swinging logs, lianas, pulleys, and cable swings: there are 6 different routes, from the easiest, the Green, suitable for children and adults from 130 cm in stature, with a maximum height from the ground of 3.5 meters, to the Red one, the most difficult, where you get up to to 10 metres high!Il Giardino Sospeso is open every day from June until mid-September, with additional openings throughout the yearyou can find the complete calendar here).).
