Sailing holidays in Tuscany: set sail, breathe, let go
Sail the Tuscan Archipelago even without sailing experience
Pianeta Mare was born to create unforgettable experiences; chartering a yacht is simply the means to live your own adventure.
Every trip is a journey that begins the moment you cast off, where you quickly forget what day it is: out at sea, you can truly disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with yourself and nature.
The port of Salivoli, in Piombino, is your starting point. Park the car, load your bags, step on board. In less than an hour, you are already immersed in the crystal-blue sea of Elba. No ticket offices or long queues in the sun, no crowds pushing past you. Just you, the scent of the salt air, and the gentle breeze caressing your skin.
Sailing day trips: an experience filled with the scent of the sea
We set off in the morning after a brief briefing at the Pianeta Mare offices at Marina di Salivoli: you will get all the useful tips to make the most of your day on a sailing yacht.
The sun warms the deck as the yacht glides towards the Biodola Gulf, Barbarossa’s pirate beach, the Cerboli islet, between Elba and Piombino. The water is so crystal-clear that you can see the seabed. Dive in for some snorkelling, swimming, scuba diving, or perhaps have some fun on a SUP.
Lunch on board features typical Tuscan products, as you chat with new companions or lifelong friends sharing this magical adventure with you. You return at sunset with salt in your hair, feeling completely fulfilled!
If you want an active sailing experience: take the helm, help with the sails, and feel the yacht respond to your movements.
Or simply lie back in the sun with a glass of chilled wine in hand. The yacht becomes your private island.
Trips with Pianeta Mare always follow your own pace and your desire to get involved.
Check-in is usually between 9:00 and 9:30, with return scheduled between 18:00 and 19:00. However, there is flexibility: upon request, you can stay out until 21:00 to enjoy the sunset, which is an unmissable spectacle when savoured out at sea 😉
What is included in your day trips
The basic package includes: yacht charter, fuel, final cleaning and a welcome drink. Upon request, you can add a light lunch on board.
A sailing trip is the perfect experience to give as a gift: for a birthday, an anniversary, or simply to show someone you care in a unique way.
Sailing weekend in Elba: two days all to yourself
The sky fills with stars as the yacht gently sways. Fall asleep cradled by the sea and wake up to the golden light of dawn streaming through the porthole. This is a sailing weekend break.
Two days are enough to circumnavigate Elba. Or you can head towards Capraia, sail close to Corsica, or lose yourself along the eastern side of the island.
The itinerary is tailored to your available time and sea conditions, choosing the best routes among the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago from time to time.
Cabin charters: set sail even as a solo traveller
Travelling solo or as a couple? Cabin charters are designed just for you. Share the yacht with other travellers, split the costs, and multiply the stories. You often return to shore with new friends.
The Pianeta Mare experiences are open to everyone. No age limits. No previous sailing experience required.
The only requirement? A desire to share the experience together.
Twenty square metres out at sea, sharing water and energy. Cosy spaces that create a close bond. Sailing teaches teamwork: you cook together, laugh together, and watch the same sunset.
Sailing hen party: aperitif, music and shared smiles
Forget the usual drinks. A sailing hen party in Tuscany is an experience you will talk about for years. Laughter, music, and diving into the blue. The sun sets as you toast with your best friends.
And for the grooms, Pianeta Mare organizes stag parties too 😉
The Bluetooth sound system plays your favourite playlist: are you more rock or pop?
What was that song you always used to sing? The coves become your dance floor. Lunch on board tastes of a true holiday. The photos will capture happy faces, wind-blown hair, and warm embraces.
The yachts can accommodate up to 12 people.
What is included in event packages
Every experience is tailor-made. You can add:
- Light lunch
- Sunset Pack with champagne and finger food at sunset
- Sailing Dinner with catering and an open bar
You can customise your experience by adding services based on the type of trip.
Sailing team building: sailing together, growing together
A sailing yacht works only if the crew cooperates. Every manoeuvre requires listening, coordination, and mutual trust. This is why companies choose Pianeta Mare: sailing becomes a training ground for leadership and communication.
Executives, team members, partners: anyone who steps on board steps off with a renewed energy.
Fleet and Charter
Bareboat sailing yacht charter in Tuscany
Do you have a sailing licence and want to skipper yourself? Pianeta Mare also offers classic bareboat charters: choose your yacht, receive the briefing, and set sail. For a day, a weekend break, or a whole week.
The fleet: 15 yachts to experience the sea in complete safety
14 monohulls and 1 catamaran. From 10 to 17 metres. Every yacht is a perfect balance between the thrill of sailing and the comfort of feeling at home: fully equipped galleys, outdoor showers with hot water, USB ports in every cabin, and sound systems for your music.
Some feature air conditioning. All have space for snorkelling equipment, a SUP, and lazy hours at anchor.
Capacity: from 6 to 12 berths.
Treasure Hunt
The Treasure Hunt: a pirate weekend break in the Tuscan Archipelago
Every year in April, Pianeta Mare transforms its fleet into a crew of pirate ships.
An entire weekend break of adventure: regattas, skill trials, and shore landings to hunt for clues hidden in the woods and on the beaches.
The dress code? Pirate costumes, of course.
It is always full of laughter, challenges, and camaraderie among crews who barely know each other but end up cheering together.
The treasure is a chest hidden in a different location every year: underwater, under the sand, or hanging from a tree.
Inside, there is no gold, but a scroll with a message to read all together. The winners take home free entry for the following year.
A weekend break rich in that precious carefreeness we often forget to experience as adults.
What is included? Yacht, meals, gadgets, a T-shirt, and a photo and video service with a drone.
Andrea's Story
From the pharmaceutical sector to the helm of sailing yachts: Andrea's story
Once upon a time, there was Andrea, a pharmaceutical executive who used to consider sailing yachts “ugly, slow, and expensive”.
He owned a motorboat, used it in his few spare moments, and worked in an office. His life was driven by the stressful rhythm of endless meetings.
Then, almost as a joke, he enrolled in a sailing and motor skipper licence course. And right there, something happened that our Andrea would never have imagined.
Discovering the world of sailing yachts was love at first sight. Within four months, he resigned and joined Pianeta Mare full-time. It was 2010.
The company, founded in 2007 with just one yacht, now boasts a fleet of 15, welcoming thousands of people on board every year. Andrea still passes on that same enthusiasm to every guest, with the awareness of someone who knows that sailing is a way of life.
“We create unforgettable moments. Those who step on board are looking for something they might not even know they want yet: the freedom to switch off, the pleasure of feeling the wind on their skin, and the discovery that time can slow down without the world falling apart.”
By his side is Elvira, Pianeta Mare’s Booking Manager. She is the voice on the phone when you call, the person who builds your tailor-made experience. She knows every yacht and every route.
Are you planning a romantic weekend break? A hen party or a day trip with the kids? Elvira will always guide you to the right choice. With patience, precision, and that signature warmth that makes you feel welcome even before stepping on board.
