After the usual introductions, Giulia’s enthusiasm for her ‘Creation’ and the desire to reopen after the winter break to share her love and passion is evident in her eyes even before she speaks.
She confides that she likes to define Amarasca as a ‘fluid project’, “Because it’s a continuous process of planning, (re)building, renewing. My passion for restoration of what we in Tuscany like to call ‘troiai’ (old and often neglected items) is evident in every space, from the themed rooms to the shared kitchen and the various gardens on the property.”

“This was the family home where my great-grandparents, grandparents, uncles, and all the cousins lived. Over the years, though, it remained empty, silent, waiting for a new destiny,” says Giulia with a touch of emotion.
“When I returned from London after several years, everything had a different flavor as if by magic, and in this place, I saw something I had previously overlooked. Everything had taken on a new light, revealing a potential I had previously ignored or taken for granted. I saw the possibility to create a refuge, a place to make people feel at home and make their stay a unique and unforgettable experience.”
Amarasca, not your usual Farmhouse
Because Amarasca transcends the traditional idea of a farmhouse; it is not simply a destination for those seeking a nature vacation and an active experience on the Etruscan Coast. It is much more: a commitment to respecting traditions, a creative recycling workshop, an agricultural street food market, a zero-kilometer product market, a showcase for local craftsmanship, and much more.
A unique project, an experience in itself, as Giulia enthusiastically explains: “I wanted Amarasca to become a place of gathering, a place where hospitality goes beyond just a stay. That’s why I organize photo exhibitions, live music events, film screenings for children and adults, creative workshops, and local artists’ markets in the garden,” she says with enthusiasm. “Moreover, the structure is well organized to welcome people with disabilities, removing most of the architectural barriers, for example, setting up tables in our gardens that can accommodate people in wheelchairs, because I want Amarasca to be for everyone!”

Ideal for those wanting to visit the port for a trip to Elba Island, visit the historic center and enjoy the wonderful view of the Tuscan Archipelago, do sea sports in Baratti or on the beaches of the Sterpaia Coastal Park, or go trekking or biking on the Via dei Cavalleggeri and the many paths and trails surrounding the area. And in 10 minutes, you can reach the thermal baths of Venturina Terme!
“The area is particularly suited for sports activities, with frequent swimming, sailing, surfing, and cycling competitions. We often host groups for apnea and responsible spearfishing and e-bike and MTB enthusiasts who use Amarasca as a base for their experiences,” Giulia continues, “We are working on offering our guests sports and wellness packages, but for now, we rely on external professionals, such as for bike rentals and organizing trekking excursions.”

While visiting the property, gardens, and rooms of the farmhouse, Giulia points out the various multipurpose spaces for organizing dynamic activities such as Yoga and Pilates sessions and fitness.
